Need name suggestions for our newest addition.

6 Sep

Wait – is she really going to name her child based on her blog comments?

Of course not, weirdo.  We’ve got our daughter’s name under control, thanks.

Find a happy place! Find a happy place!

No, this post pertains to her nickname.  Seabass was named after a minor (but memorable) character in the award-winning film, Dumb and Dumber.  (Read more about that here.)  Now we’re looking for inspiration to nickname his new baby sister.  Points will be awarded for creativity and unwillingness to bend to gender assumptions.  E.g. the nickname “Bulldog” would definitely trump “Kitten” or “Sweet Pea.”  The winner will be awarded a virtual high-five from me and the eternal satisfaction of knowing that he or she has contributed to the embarrassment of one of our children.

Suggestions must be made on this blog as a comment (not on Facebook).  And if we don’t take a liking to any of them, we reserve the right to scrap the whole contest altogether.

Happy brainstorming!!!

Loosey (Lucie) Goosey? Henney Penny? Frumpy Lumpy?

I’m gonna go with Sally, like the peanuts character. She was Charlie Brown’s little sister.

And I sort of like the way Sally & Seabass go together 🙂

Flounder. It has both the fish theme and the movie character theme going for it.

How many suggestions can I make? I might come up with something better.

Since it’s not possible to overuse Dumb and Dumber quotes or themes, I suggest Flo. It just rolls off the tongue, especially someday when you’re yelling “Flo and Sea Bass get yer dern buuutts ovar hare now!” out your front door. Besides, it’s better than Fraida Felcher.

J, I don’t know if this nickname thing can be given with out meeting the precious baby girl. I think you have to wait until she’s born and it will just come to you and it will be fitting. Flo is a good one, but will she be doomed to being a haggard old diner waitress?

Hey B -I just read Bella’s story and I was so moved, and also a bit angry at your doctors. I want to shout at them. Maybe they are worn down by the nuebmr of cases they see, but they should remember that they are in the business of healing PEOPLE, actual PEOPLE. And words can cut just as deep as wounds. News this difficult should never be delivered so coldly. I’m sorry you had to go through that. You are such a strong person Beryl and I admire your willingness to share and inspire. I’m happy to know you.-M

Indi. Indiana Jones (my personal hero) always stumbled in to a little more adventure than he bargained for but made it out unscathed–with style–every time, because he was more clever and handsome than anyone else.

I love your reason for the name Seabass!

Hey Jack! just got into DIY over here for my vaping needs. I oedrred some cinnamon red hot flavoring from perfumers apprentice. When i mixed up my batch (20% flavoring, 50/50 VG/PG, 12 mg), the entire mix turned cloudy (immediate). The site says their cinnamon red hot flavoring is water soluble. Do you know what could be causing this?
